NOVEMBER 2009 IS THE STRONGEST MONTH EVER  FOR MOVIES ON DEMAND (MOD)
PREMIERING ON CABLE TV SAME DAY AS HOME VIDEO
RELEASE

Day & Date Momentum Heats Up as Cable's November MOD Schedule Represents Most Titles Ever and Biggest Total Box Office for Day & Date: Films,
Topped by "Angels & Demons" and "Four Christmases"

New York, Nov. 2 - November 2009 is a record month for movies premiering on cable's Movies on Demand (MOD) the same day as their home video DVD release (day & date), signifying a sea change in the popularity of the MOD platform. According to iN DEMAND, the leading distributor of MOD to cable, the trend is that movie windows are narrowing, affording cable customers access to many titles, either at or very close to the day they hit home video stores. These films are accessible with just the touch of a remote button. November is a banner month, premiering the most ever of these day & date titles, plus it represents the biggest box office ever for titles offered day & date. December will be a very strong month as well.

November's day & date titles coming to cable's MOD provide something for everyone: action, drama, thrillers, family, romance and comedies. Below are the titles, studios, the domestic box office as of 10.22.09, and their premiere date on MOD:

1. "Angels & Demons" - Sony - $133.0M, Premieres Nov. 24

2. "Four Christmases" - Warner Bros - $120.0M, Premieres Nov. 24

3. "The Ugly Truth" - Sony - $88.9M, Premieres Nov. 10

4. "The Taking of Pelham 123" - Sony - $65.4M, - Premieres Nov. 3

5. "Bruno" - Universal - $60.1M, Premieres Nov. 17

6. "Funny People" - Universal - $51.8M, - Premieres Nov. 24

7. "My Sister's Keeper" - Warner Bros - $49.2M, - Premieres Nov. 17

8. "Aliens in the Attic" - Fox - $25.0M, Premieres Nov. 3

9. "Shorts" - Warner Bros - $20.4M, Premieres Nov. 24

10. "I Love You, Beth Cooper" - Fox - $14.6M, Premieres Nov. 3

11. "Food, Inc." - Magnolia - $4.3M, Premieres Nov. 3

Thanksgiving weekend will be especially rich with new offerings. In addition to day & date titles, many other great films are also premiering on MOD in November, such as "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" (11.18) and "Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs" (11.24). Go to www.indemand.com for full listings.

According to David Asch, Executive Vice President, iN DEMAND Networks, "Over the past three years, we've seen a more than seven-fold increase in the number of titles offered to cable's Movies On Demand the same time as DVD. The timing is not surprising. An ever-growing audience of digital cable customers find ordering on demand entertainment second-nature; and delivering movies day & date to cable is increasingly important in the distribution mix of major studios."

iN DEMAND data** demonstrates this growth:
2007: 15 films offered to MOD Day & Date with Home Video (started in September, 2007)
2008: 76 films offered to MOD Day & Date with Home Video
2009: 110 films offered to MOD Day & Date with Home Video

With its ease-of-use and broad availability, Video On Demand (VOD) in general is on a steep growth curve. According to Rentrak, in the first six months of 2009 alone there were more than 3.35 billion U.S. On Demand transactions** on cable and other platforms in the U.S., including free, subscription and transactional offerings. That compares to 3.8 billion VOD transactions in all of 2008 (Rentrak).

Bruce Leichtman projects that 44.8 million cable and telco video households will have access to VOD at Year End 2009, up from 40.2 million at Year End 2008. Source: Leichtman Research Group's On-Demand TV 2009: A nationwide study of VOD and DVRs.

With a click of their remotes on digital cable, viewers can order, pause, rewind and forward. Most major Hollywood movies on MOD are also in HD. Viewers can find complete listings by going to www.iNDEMAND.com/movies, their on-screen guides or their cable system websites.
