Movies On Demand on Cable Schedule Update – April 2014

If you need a good laugh after a long hard winter, then Movies on Demand on cable is the place to come!

The hilarious Will Ferrell reprises his role as the perennially inept and silly newsman Ron Burgundy in Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, with a cast of comedic sidekicks including Steve Carell and Christina Applegate.  More laughs ensue in the action comedy Ride Along, from the producer of Think Like a Man (Will Packer), in which Kevin Hart – who is trying to prove his worth as a potential brother-in-law - and Ice Cube play cops on patrol during an extremely dangerous night.  Ride Along also features John Leguizamo and Laurence Fishburne and the MOD version includes the Ride Along Gag Reel of entertaining outtakes.  In the animated comedy The Nut Job, Will Arnett voices a mischievous squirrel whose plans for a nut store heist lead his buddies on a wild adventure. The Secret Life of Walter Mitty stars Ben Stiller as the eternal day dreamer, a character made world-famous by author James Thurber, whose lead character’s overblown fantasies become tested in real life in the film.

Also in April is the mega-hit from director Peter Jackson, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, continuing Bilbo Baggins’ epic adventures in Middle-earth.  Another notable premiere in April is the film adaptation of the Pulitzer Prize-winning play by Tracy Letts, August: Osage County with a cast of acting greats led by Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts. Viewers who missed it in theaters can also catch the multiple award-winning and nominated Philomena, starring the great British actress, Dame Judi Dench as a mother searching for her son 50 years after a forced adoption.  It received 92% positive ratings from critics on Rotten Tomatoes®.

Many more new release titles premiere in April. Complete list below.
